How to get SVG viewer work properly with multiple monitors

I have recently upgraded from Directory Opus lite 11 to Directory Opus 13.

I have two monitors:
Monitor 1: 3840 x 2160
Monitor 2: 1600 x 900

Monitor 2 is to the right of Monitor 1, both properly set in Windows 10.

When Directory Opus 13 is in Monitor 2, SVG files and any video files correctly display inside the viewer pane window. All good.

However when Directory Opus 13 is on Monitor 1, the SVG image and any video previews escape the viewer pane, and place themselves in the upper middle of the Directory Opus window (outside of the viewer pane).

While the scroll bars appear with the SVG preview image, the handles are actually invisible inside the viewer pane, which is off to the right side of the DO window. This only happens with SVG images, not PNG / JPG / TIF files.

Any video file just puts the video top center, about an inch from the top of the window, again with controls in the actual viewer pane sub-window.

Fonts can't decide if they want to take up the full viewer pane or about 1/4 of the pane, but at least they stay in the viewer pane.

While I'm sure that I'll eventually like this upgrade, so far it has been an awkward experience with the program taking over double clicking on the desktop without asking if I have other programs that I prefer to do so and how it changed the file listings (again without any warning or permission).

Any help with the viewer would be appreciated.

No SVG viewer is part of Opus itself. If you're having issues with one, they need to be raised with the people who make it. (Or try a different one.)

I tend to use Edge for SVG, which works inside the Opus viewer pane.

If you're using the PowerToys SVG viewer, that might explain things, as the PowerToys viewers are almost universally awful.

You can configure which viewer Opus uses for these formats via Preferences / Viewer / Plugins, configuring the MetaPlugin, which is what allows non-native viewers to work inside Opus.

Thank you for your quick response.

No, I'm not using the Powertoys SVG viewer.

It is saying "(edge)", but I can find zero explanation as to:

  1. How to configure this in Edge, even though it appears to be a DO 13 issue of not trapping output in the proper frame.
  2. How it works in one monitor, but not the other.

After fiddling with the Metaplugin (just how would anyone know about this before asking though?), I was able to change to IE 64 bit, adding the file extensions. I notice a lack of other web browsers even though I also have Firefox and Chrome installed. Only MS browsers are listed there: Edge, IE 32 bit, IE 64 bit. DO 13 is also now complaining that Edge has been disabled.

This also doesn't address the video issue happening.

I've uploaded a couple images to a hidden link to hopefully express what I am frustrated with:

Again, switching from Edge fixed the SVG issue, but not the video issue. I've tried in the MetaPlugin to switch to Windows Media Player, Generic ActiveX 32 bit, and Generic ActiveX 64 bit, with no luck as all show the same results.

Have you checked your video drivers are up to date?

Yes, though I'm failing to understand what that has to do with the viewer pane not policing where it is showing its information.

One other thing I have noticed is that in the title bar that there is a comment about "DPI OVERRIDE:" which I can't find any settings for. This may or may not be at play. Again, on the 1600 x 900 monitor the viewer pane acts like I would expect no matter the file type. The 3840 x 2160 monitor on the other hand is showing unexpected results.

To address a further question: My Display Settings for Scale and Layout is 200% in Windows and Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry is "On". Also extend multiple displays.

That is probably the cause of all the problems:

Yup, there it was. The thrice buried override high DPI scaling was indeed checked. After the offending dialog was fixed, so everything is working, both SVG previews and multimedia.

Thank you very much for all of your help in this matter. As I have said, I expect that eventually I'll be comfortable enough with this upgrade. The learning curve is always steep with a program of this scope.
