How to set / toggle a Label or Status via a shortcut key

Hello, I've been wanting to ask if its possible to set a Label or Status via a single key and then have the status toggle off if highlighted and the shortcut key is pressed again?

I"ve used this style of functionality in a previous program (FlashFXP) as a file manager for years prior to discovering DO and to learn that DO has user defined Labels/Status was great but in FlashFXP i could just hit the spacebar on a file or folder and it would do a default highlight and then toggle it off again if the spacebar is pressed again. THis helps quickly define selections.

If i could do this with DO and its more in depth Labels and Status feature that'd be awesome.

Thanks.

Yes, you can do that using a command like this on a hotkey:
