Labels Cleaner For Directory Opus.zip (346 KB)

Nice tool. I use lots of color changes & recently noticed, that deleted folders will remain in the Database. I made an user command with that program, to clean up once in a while. Thank you.

I downloaded this application but AVG 9 seems to have problems with AutoIT. According to virustotal:

I believe this to be another false positive from AVG. It doesn't seem to like the compiled executables created by AutoIT. That's one of the reasons we insist that scripts provided in executable form also include the uncompiled source, as this does.

Steve,
Thank you for your quick reply. I also feel this is a false positive (as with the other 4 via virustotal). The problem is how to tell AVG who are not responding to my enquiries!
Regards!

Tool is updated and now works for DOpus 9 and 10.

Thanks for this

Good job, If DOpus could do this automatic will be more convinient when file or folders' name changed or removed.

A built-in cleaning function would be nice but an automatic one, I'm not so sure.
For some folders/files I want to keep the labels even after folders/files are deleted. In some situations folders/files return at a later moment at the same location. I want them to have the same label again.
Also when you accidentally make a mistake renaming or deleting a file/folder and correct that mistake it is handy when the label is still there.

I think it's less important these days as you have the choice of storing the labels in Preferences (in which case you probably want them to stay around even if the file is moved/deleted) or storing the label as part of the NTFS ADS metadata with the file itself (in which case if the file is deleted, the label is as well, automatically).

I just know how to switch between desciption.ion and NTFS metadata

Store in preferences Is something like
SetAttr CREATED "1900-01-01 0:00:00" ?
