Making the lister link feature behave like the 'Viewer Select' script

Is there a way to make only the lister follow the currently viewed image, and not the other way around, with the new(ish) link to lister feature? Like the old Viewer Select script.

The description for the button (Track and display the currently selected file in the Lister which opened the viewer) and the update to the script thread seem to imply so, but I can only make it work the other way (the selected file in the lister changes the opened image) or both. Is there a way to make it work like the script, where only the selected file in the lister changes along with the image?

The arrows in the red circled areas below change the image in the viewer and the lister follows along.

Should have been clearer maybe, this question is about the standalone viewer (not the viewer pane).

Also, the viewer pane links both ways which is fine for the viewer pane but is not what I want for the standalone viewer.

If you want linking to only be one way, from viewer to file display, the script is still the best way to get that.

Okay, thanks for the answer! But imho maybe the script thread should not say "No longer needed for Directory Opus 13 and above" then. Made me think I was missing something obvious or my install was bugged, when in fact the lister link feature does not even replicate the functionality of the script.

I've edited the script post.
