Password protect zipped folder

Maybe a new feature? Add password protect zip file, so when someone tries to extract it, a password is required before anything at all happens.

Which would look like this, when double clicking a password protected rar-file (WinRAR)

You can do that already. The Archive Files button on the toolbar, or Add To Archive… option in contexts menus both let you specify a password.

Your “WinRAR” screenshots are also actually of Opus, if you look at the name in the titlebars. The feature is already part of Opus.

I know that Opus is launched when trying to extract a .rar file.

The thing is that, whilst using Opus, adding a password, and double clicking the password protected zip, the contents of the zip is visible (green file names) which then may 'reveal' what the files may be about. Even though the contents can not be accessed, from a privacy point of view this may not always be desired.

Whereas, when password protected by WinRAR, a password is required as the very first step, i.e. nothing is displayed. See screenshot.

There’s an option to encrypt the filenames as well as the file contents, next to the password field when you make the archive.

Same in most archive tools.

Note that the option is there for RAR and 7Z but not Zip, as discussed In your old thread about this:
