I have this new MP3-player. It's problem is, it will play files in the order they get pasted.
Since these are audiobooks, it's not what I want.
I named my files prefixed by track number. Then I order (the display) by name.
When I select all files at once, and paste them in the player folder, the paste order is not by track.
My workaround is copy from explorer and paste in Dopus.
Is it possible to manage the paste order directly in Dopus?
Can you show a screenshot of the copy & paste folders?
I'm wondering what type of device it is, and whether it is using a custom namespace (where the player's software would handle the pasting) or if it's something Opus handles natively.
Looks like a normal folder. I don't know why the copy or paste order would be rearranged as it should simply be the same order it was in the source (at least if the source is Opus, and assuming nothing is monitoring the clipboard and changing it).
So if you want to change the playlist order to insert a file at the top, SanDisk expect you to delete all the files, then re-copy them all in a different order? That seems ridiculous.
Did a little test: I created a map called "test". Within there, in one go, I created maps: 1, 3, 2, 5.
Went to parent map of test. Ordered by name. Copied the map "test" in one go to APGtEK player.
Opened the "test" map on the player. The order of maps was in the order I created them.
So there seems to be a default order of submap copy, being by order created.
I would like it to be: submaps also by name, as I order the parent map by name. (Or probably always copy by name)
Are you sure the device isn't sorting by datestamp, rather than anything to do with the copy/paste order?
The order things were created will not affect the order Opus copies them, at least not at the top level when sorted by name (and not at any other level at least on NTFS, since NTFS itself enumerates in alphabetical order).
Opus may be configured to preserve more types of datestamps than Explorer is, which could explain some differences.
It appears that when I manually copy maps 5, 1, 2, 3 (or any order I choose) they appear in that order on the player.
Even when date modified of 1 is newer than the rest.
