Hi,
After updating the Phone Link companion app (used by millions) I got notification that it's capability to browse Photos on phone is being phased out, and that will be moved to Windows explorer.exe itself. I can confirm, it's there, and it works. Windows explorer now properly shows all photos/videos/etc on my phone.
The special menu is being shown on the left side. What is interesting is that it's visible in Directory Opus as well:
However the browsing function does not work. Seems the files are .ms-search which Opus cannot open. Example contet oh Images.search-ms file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<persistedQuery version="1.0">
<viewInfo viewMode="icons" iconSize="256" stackIconSize="0" displayName="Search Results in storage" autoListFlags="0">
<sortList>
<sort viewField="System.DateModified" direction="descending" />
</sortList>
</viewInfo>
<query>
<kindList>
<kind name="picture" />
</kindList>
<scope>
<include path="::{7CD58693-2033-4220-B7F0-B3056DE3EBEE}\storage" attributes="1887437183" nonRecursive="false" />
<exclude path="::{7CD58693-2033-4220-B7F0-B3056DE3EBEE}\storage\Recycle bin - Connected device" attributes="1887437183" />
</scope>
</query>
<properties>
<author Type="string">CrossDevice</author>
</properties>
</persistedQuery>
Since this feature is now being supported by Windows Explorer, do you plan to introdude it to Directory Opus as well?
It would be a shame if it wasn't possible to browse photos from Opus, because if they remove that feature from Phone Link, then I will have to run Windows Explorer frequently just for this feature.
Thanks!
