Questions about FAYT Search and Results in Collections

Hi, I have questions about search queries using FAYT. Please correct me if I get something wrong.

I set Everything Global as the default FAYT option. When I start typing, the results are instantly shown (great) in the current tab (not great, how can I make them open in a new tab instead?).

The address bar shows the results are in "File Collections > Search Results > Global Everything Search Results". If I go up to "Search Results" collection, I can see previous queries each in folders. But they are named like "%d3h1b7k9..." randomly, non-human readable, instead of being named in an intuitive format like "date-time - text query". The only way I can see what the previous queries were for each folder is to open their Properties, and select the Query tab. Is this accurate? Is there no way to edit this to be intuitive and readable?

Even more puzzling: this "Search Results" folder (also appears as "coll://%%Lister-Quick-Find-Results%%") doesn't show up in the actual Collections folder, where it should be. Is it supposed to be hidden, or am I dealing with a bug here? (I ask because I saw issues trying to import DO12 collections so deleted some manually) If it's supposed to be hidden, then... why? And is there a way to make it appear in Collections?

%%Lister-Quick-Find-Results%% and its behavior doesn't seem to be well documented anywhere?

Also puzzling: the stored queries folders in %%Lister-Quick-Find-Results%% cannot be renamed or deleted. I cannot find a way to manage past search queries with this interface and with the random folder names it's very messy.

Since I cannot see a way to browse it, I tried making a button with Go "coll://%%Lister-Quick-Find-Results%%". Except when I click this button, it tries to open "coll://%Lister-Quick-Find-Results%" (single %s) and fails.

Currently the only way to get decently intuitive stored and browsable results with Everything search via dopus is by using forum scripts that do these things (new tab, time stamps + search names, easy to manage in Collections). But scripts require their own buttons/menus and don't benefit from the direct accessibility of FAYT or a direct search field bar. It would be ideal if we could have and manage those settings for the native search results as well.

Thanks.

You just said that you've been using DOpus since v12 ? :slightly_smiling_face:

You can create your own FAYT script that works with Everything exactly the way you want.

Thank you for so quickly letting me know this was a possibility. Now that I know, I know what to look for. Thankfully someone already created such a FAYT script! Do you know him? (his output is impressive, the team should hire him!)

Still I'm curious why the default settings are like this...

Fwiw, that one doesn't support real-time results... I did it specifically to avoid that.
