Synchronization upload fails

G'day Folks,

The problem is that synchronization upload fails.

  • Using Directory Opus v11.19 x64

I am using Windows 8.1 workstation (located in Sydney Australia Australian Eastern Time Zone UTC+10:00) and uploading in the synchronization via FTB to my Linux Server in Chicago Illinois USA ( Central Time Zone UTC-06:00 )

The issue is that it uploads and then repeatedly perform the same task / upload when I compare the folders after the initial synchronization.

I have checked the settings, Time zones, etc. rebooted, restarted the synchronization and I end up with repeating the same 3761 files and 731 folders to synchronize / upload.

I have tried to synchronize individual folders however that too fails as it repeatedly fails in the synchronization and want to continuously upload the same files, I.e. fails to recognize the files on the Server.

I have disabled the BitDefender Total Security 2016, and Firewall, rebooted and restarted the synchronization however this made no difference and the synchronization / upload and recognition fails doing the same, wants to upload the same files over and over again.

Any help would be most welcome.

Does the remote FTP server support setting timestamps?

G'day jon,
Thanks for question the answer is "Yes"

Additional Note; The issue /problem started about 3 weeks ago and before this it was working fine.

Additional Note;
I have sent a message to "securednshost.com" my support team and asked them if they had made any changes other than moving my WHM and other cPanels to the SSD drives.

If you use the Attributes command (in the Properties button's dropdown menu) to try changing the timestamp of a file on the FTP server, does it change successfully?

G'day jon,
Thanks for question the answer is "Yes" it does change the date and time on the server.

Added note;
Compare then recognizes the change and shows one (1) less file to synchronize.

Do you have the Preferences / File Operations / Copy Attributes / Preserve the timestamps of copied files option turned on?

G'day jon,
In the Preferences / File Operations / Copy Attributes / "Preserve the timestamps of copied files" option is turned on, i.e. the box is ticked.
As well, the "Preserve the attributes of copied files" and "Preserve the description of copied files"

Hello Mr. Hass,
No, your IP address is not blocked in the server firewall, in fact it is white-listed.
And there should not be any problem uploading files to the server, there were no changes made recently.

Please try a test synchronize in a single folder with just a few files, and see if you get the same result.

G'day jon,

Been there, done that, and I have
Synchronized setting is to 1. Delete 2. Copy from source to destination. / Mode: one way copy / Compare: date (different) or size

  1. Deleted the files on the server and then synchronized = same once I compare wants to again upload.
  2. Deleted some files on my workstation to see if they would delete on the server = Deleted OK, uploaded others, then compare wanted to upload same files and folders again.

Synchronization on my LAN between workstations and same also different OS"s - all work fine and do their jb.

Other observation:
I have an issue when the files to delete number above 1050 or the size is above 1.2GB the Recycle bin option to delete all and not move to Recycle Bin does not come up and then the files are not deleted.

Other note.
Performing Synchronization from Sys03 workstation Win XP Pro SP3 with Directory Opus v11.19 x86 to Server, behaves the same way as does from Win 8.1 to Server.

Can you please post screenshots showing the full Lister with both local and server, and the configuration in the Synchronize panel. Make sure we can see full details of files on both sides of the file display.

(Use a test folder with dummy files if you want to keep your real filenames private)

Please show both before and after the synchronize has run.

G'day Jon,
Here are the Images, all 34 of them that should give you a comprehensive scenario of events. Included are the running system processes and DO parameters.
Not all fitted so I am placing the running system processes in 2nd reply.

running system processes image 4

Thanks for that.

I think one picture would have been enough though

Look at any of them. The timestamps aren't the same in the top window as they are in the bottom.

Try turning off the Adjust directory and file dates for site time zone option in the address book. Quit Opus (to make sure the old times aren't cached), and then try your test sync again and see if that improves things.

No difference times aere now the same however sync still want to re-upload same files.

The file sizes are different in that screenshot.
