Greetings,
Any suggestions on how the modify the right-click context menu shown below?
ohhh my, buckel in... there's A TON you can do to customize the context menu.
...in short just about any menu\toolbar buttons\function\scrpit can be copied into the context menu.
where to start indeed.... i been editing and reshaping mine for months! like 6+ months and I'm still an amatur.
there are many, many, many threads on the forums for endless inspiration. start searching "context menu"
also, remember, as i said above, most of the items from
Buttons/Scripts
area of the forum can me converted into a menu item as well. its sometimes a multi-stage process thou you can create a command, then attach it the context menu via file types.
Most of the Right Click Menus [on files and folders] can be editing from the ...
File Types Window [via the settings menu]
here you can start adding \ modifying \ removing what shows up on the context menu using File Groups or Specific System File Types.
open a file group or file type from that window, click the Commands tab on top, then Context Menu on the lower set of tabs and here you can start creating your custom menu items, or "Buttons" as they often called dopus.
here's another button i made for... Img to *-OCR.txt .
i have another that only show up on .md
files, which will copy or move them to predefined folder from anywhere on my system.
another fun one... Adding Cascading Folder Content to your context menus
the possibilities are near endless in dopus. I'm not even a coder or good at scripting. most of what I've customized is most copy & pasted from what others have shared on this forum.
i used to use 3rd party apps like File Menu Tool for context menu extras, but dopus is better, it took some time learn thou i no longer use that app, because dopus all that and more.
furthermore, beside the right click menu, dopus will let you edit the context menu with appear on the UI, e.g., folder tabs & column headers etc etc, from the Customize Window...
best luck!
WOW .... thank you for all the info. It will take a a little while to dig in. I am sure I will be back with more questions.
It's a lot! I've been using dopus for 4 years and just starting to understand how powerful it is using it Internal command lines, which is referenced by nearly every menu item {both context and lister menus} and tool bar items alike.
Bookmark this page it'll be your go to if you want to start creating custom actions...
